100 schools, 100,000 books for students in Togo

This campaign aims to fund the purchase and delivery of suitable books in order to launch the Book Education programme in 100 schools in Togo.

Thanks to your support, we are already collecting a large number of books. But for pupils who have not yet developed the habit or the pleasure of reading, it is essential to offer books that are genuinely accessible, motivating and suited to their level.

Short novels, illustrated books, general-knowledge titles, teaching materials and school books will be carefully selected to spark curiosity, encourage reading and support academic success.

Introducing reading in a school requires real preparation. Arriving with books that are too complex, too long or far removed from pupils' everyday lives can instead create frustration and push young people away from reading.

That is why this campaign is not only about sending books, but about choosing the right books, at the right level and at the right moment. Our goal is simple: to let pupils experience a first positive encounter with reading — one in which they can recognise themselves, understand and make progress.

Each beneficiary school will receive a selection of books tailored to its real needs. This document base will allow the Book Education programme to gradually weave reading into pupils' school and everyday lives.

Because a single book can spark curiosity, build self-confidence and open up new horizons.
