Making education accessible by providing books to pupils and students

The project improves education in Africa by encouraging reading and supports students in Europe by offering free books to fight poverty.

The challenges our initiative tackles differ from one place to another.

world map

Our activity in Europe

In Europe, we fight student poverty by distributing free books to young people in need at the start of the semester.

Our activity in Africa

In West Africa, we help improve access to education by distributing textbooks and general culture books.

Why access to books is crucial

Entire generations of students complete school without ever accessing adapted learning resources.

A vicious circle

In West Africa, reading is a luxury. With few infrastructures and books available, students read little. Because they read little, demand stays low, which limits investment in new reading spaces.

A parent with limited income will not invest in a book their child probably won’t read.

And what about Europe?

Student precarity worsened after the Covid-19 crisis. Many young people in France and Germany can no longer afford essential textbooks. Prices stay high and many study without the resources they need.

Which comes first?

Is it the lack of infrastructure that discourages reading, or the lack of interest that justifies little investment?
